We have designed, prototyped and had officially tested our unique controller; the Arcade Twinstick. This controller is the only true analogue and digital compatible unit that is switchable between the two. Because of its exclusive design, the Arcade Twinstick Controller works on numerous platforms from the Vectrex to the PS5 and Switch 2. This controller uses no power and the throw angle is identical to a standard digital stick so the feel is the same regardless of being set to analogue or digital.
The Arcade Twinstick gives massive compatibility with any game using thumbsticks going right back to the Sony Playstation original dual analogue controller. All twin stick games are finally available on a regular control panel. Bet you thought you'd never hear that.
If you like Robotron, Geometry Wars, The Binding Of Issac, Smash TV or Xeno Crisis then you are in for a treat.
Often the simplest and cheapest way to make the electronics required in an arcade style controller is to "pad hack" an existing cheap joypad. Here we purchased a couple of Sega Megadrive controllers from Amazon and used those instead of buying a specific printed circuit board from a company such as Brook Gaming.
Not only is our hacked board a lot cheaper than any commercial offering but in the case of the Sega Megadrive (Genesis in the US) it is not available on the Brook Retroboard.
This picture shows the external plastic casing of the Megadrive controller and the circuit board inside it. To open it is easy using a cross head screwdriver.
What Can You Do To Help?
We have no idea how many gamers may want to use our controller. Everyone who has tried it is completely gobsmacked about how great it is but we need to establish possible numbers of those interested.
We don’t want to use any crowdfunding or prepayment scheme and have the means to proceed on our own without raising capital.

Build Your Own Super Controller
If you have a HORI Real Arcade Pro you could build one of these twin stick controllers with the switchable analogue and digital option. Shown here at the bottom of the picture we have a replacement metal plate fitted. We call this the HORI RAP Plate. Our controller has and analogue and two digital ports to fit either a Semetsu or Sanwa loom for easy compatibility. Check out the vids on YouTube for the panel in action. Nothing else can do this…
